Urgent Announcement: 3-Day Closure

Parents and Guardians,

As you know, COVID 19 continues to present a challenge.

Upon our return today, we only had 70% of students attendance as a result of the many students who needed to quarantine due to having COVID and/or isolate due to COVID exposure.

Given this, along with the continued increase in COVID-19 cases in the community at large, we have decided that the safest course of action is to close the school for the rest of the week. Please keep your students home for the remainder of this week (Wednesday 1.5.22 through Friday 1.7.22). As we know this is a last minute change, we will not be providing any instructional obligations for this three day closure.

During the closure, staff will work to create sustainable plans to provide instruction remotely should a longer school closure prove necessary – which we certainly hope that it doesn’t.

Thanks so much for your understanding and support for the health and safety of our students. We sincerely apologize for any challenges this may create for your family and are incredibly grateful for your flexibility.

Best,

Mrs. Schreiner
Principal, Horizon Science Academy Springfield
