On May 1, 2013 the parents and staff of Horizons Science Academy Springfield were invited to a catered lunch with the representative from the National Alliance On Mental Illness, otherwise known as NAMI. Claudia Annoni, the Community/Minority Outreach Coordinator for Greater Toledo, defined and explain mental illness. She showed the team of teachers and parents the culture approaches to the illnesses that fall under the umbrella of mental illness.
