On September 12, former mixed martial art fighter Brandon “Gorilla” Copeland donated his time to speak to our 6th, 7th & 8th graders about bullying. After 10 years and two titles in mixed martial arts, Mr. Copeland began teaching children Jiu Jitsu. In working with children, he quickly learned of the bullying epidemic sweeping through our communities. For the past 3 years, Mr. Copeland has devoted his time and energy to speaking out against bullying to our youth. Words and social media are a large part of the problem and he taught students that if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. Post the positive, ignore or delete the negative- speak out against bullying.
