HSAS kicks off it’s “Why” Luncheon Series with an Inquiry into STEM

On November 5, Horizon Science Academy Springfield opened its doors to the community in the first of a series of luncheons. This “Why” luncheon series welcomes community members to learn more about our school and provide us with feedback about current issues in education and our society at large.
All of the visitors were provided tours of the building by student ambassadors, and then escorted to the library where a luncheon from Reynold’s Garden Café was held. The community members were treated with several STEM experiments performed and explained by middle school students and a presentation by two high school students on our Project Lead the Way program. After the presentations, community members were able to ask questions and provide feedback about the importance of STEM education and how their organization may be able to help.
