TARDY POLICY and LOCK OUT.
As a part of our commitment to academics, HSAS will be instituting a lockout program to cut down on the amount of tardy students.
The lockout program will start the week of February 23rd.
The tardy policy will not change, but it is still a concern to HSAS, that students are not taking their promptness to class seriously enough. Despite the consequences, students are still seen regularly tardy.
During a lockout, teachers will be instructed to shut and lock their doors, temporarily, when the bell begins ringing. Any students who are locked out must report to the common area. Those that are locked out will be suspended for 1 school day. Teachers have been instructed to let their classes out on time to avoid confusion.
Lockouts will be random and their frequency will be determined by their success. The first lockout will be a warning, and all students who are locked out the first time will receive a letter sent home as a warning.
Please stress to your student the importance of getting to class on time. The more they are in class, the better their chances for academic success.
